Belkin AirTag Accessories Review

Cheaper AirTags Cases – Belkin Key Chain Review

Are you cool with buying AirTags for $25 (4-pack of AirTags for $100) but kind of furious at the thought of paying another $35 for an Apple AirTag Keychain? You have two choices: buy something crazy like the $350 AirTag Hermès Keychain (see our article on Losing Things While Rich with AirTag Hermès), or be prudent and buy something great + inexpensive, like Belkin’s $13 AirTag KeyChain Alternative

(Editor’s Note: See our run-down of the Best AirTag Keychain Accessories here)

I love the Belkin AirTag keychain key chain accessory. It’s fantastic. It’s attractive. It’s Apple-authorized and available directly from the Apple Store. It’s also cheaper than AirTags – which is surprisingly an accomplishment, as Apple’s AirTags accessories cost more than the devices they’re supposed to protect.

Belkin, the billion-dollar-plus accessory maker, is best known for practical-but-less-than-exciting accessories like “3 Outlet USB Surge Protector Rotating Plug (918 Joule)” – and with less-than-fun-names to go with them. Don’t get me wrong, Belkin makes fantastic products – and popular ones too. In fact, Belkin was acquired for over $800 million a few years ago – that’s a lot of surge protectors!

So, Belkin the surge-protector company made a beautiful set of AirTags accessories. We’ve bought and tried several AirTags cases at this point, and our favorite is — by far — the Belkin AirTag Keychain. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t help themselves, and they had to give it a boring name… The “Belkin Secure Holder with Key Chain.” OK, get past that, because Belkin’s AirTag KeyChain & Loop are really great.

They’re also only $12.95.

Unpacking and Using the Belkin AirTag Key Chain

We were lucky enough to order our Belkin AirTag Keychain holders in white right away at launch, so we just received them. They’ve been really popular and are currently hard to get ahold of, but go ahead and check Amazon and Belkin directly to see if they’re available, and snag some if they are.

Belkin’s Secure Holder with Key Ring (I’m going to go ahead and just call it “Belkin’s AirTag Key Chain Accessory” from now on, if that’s OK with you…) comes in a slim small box – about the size of Apple’s AirTag 4-Pack box (very small as you probably saw in our AirTags Unboxing & Setup article), and is very easy to use. Set-up instructions and photos are below.

Belkin probably didn’t need to explain all this… You put your Airtag between the two plastic pieces and they snap together around it. Then you simply twist it shut to lock it in place. Feels really secure and protects the AirTag from drops – and perhaps most importantly, Belkin’s AirTag case allows you to attach your AirTag to a key-chain or piece of luggage (see our Top 5 Uses for AirTags article for more ideas of where to use AirTags). It also lets you see the AirTag still – which is nice… but means its still possible to scratch the chrome face of the AirTag. I personally like this look, but some people might want full-coverage.
