Best AirTag Loop Accessories

So… someone on Reddit went viral for losing their AirTags before they even got to unbox them. If you’ve bought a pack of AirTags before you’ve probably noticed that they don’t come with any accessories to attach them to your desired object. We reviewed the Best AirTag Keychains in our last article – which are great, but what types of AirTag accessories are the best for connecting AirTags to objects other than keys? And if so, where can you buy them before you also manage to lose your AirTags?

With these very questions in mind, Apple launched AirTag with its own leather and non-leather versions of a lanyard-type holder they call the AirTag Loop: a device that securely encloses your AirTag and is more versatile in regards to placement than the AirTag Keychains. Let’s see you try to lose your AirTags now! (Editor’s note: obviously, it helps to receive them, open the box, and actually activate your AirTags before losing them… you know, so you can track them).

Without further ado, here are reviews of Apple’s AirTag Loop & Leather Loop accessories, as well as the Top 3 Apple AirTag Loop Alternatives on the market:

  • 1. Apple AirTag Loop and Leather Loop Reviews
    • The Apple AirTag Loop (available in leather or polyurethane) is a light and elegant case that keeps your AirTag snuggly fitted to your desired object. The leather version comes in Red and Saddle Brown, while the polyurethane version offers a wider variety of colors, including Electric Orange, Sunflower (yellow), Deep Navy, and White.
    • Apple’s AirTag Loop holder has an open design one one side, allowing you to see the beautiful AirTag face, but also making it prone to scratches. Pros: it’s Apple, so it’s the brand you love and trust, and it looks beautiful. Cons, it’s Apple, so it’s expensive and the open face doesn’t offer a ton of scratch protection.
    • Note that by buying the Red leather AirTag loop, you support Apple’s initiative to benefit the (RED) foundation for HIV/AIDS and Covid19 relief – Apple’s thus far contributed over $250 million to the partnership.

  • 2. Belkin Secure Holder with Strap for AirTag
    • The Belkin Secure Holder with Strap comes in Black, Blue, Pink and White, and is securely snapped shut with a proprietary twist and lock design (as also seen in our Belkin Secure Holder AirTag Keychain Review).
    • Belkin’s not-so-creatively-named “Secure Holder with Strap” (Belkin’s AirTag Loop Accessory) features an open design with raised edges that will keep your AirTag secure and generally scratch-free (though the face could still get nicked in a direct-strike). The thin strap is easy to tie onto other objects, and the items’ open and protected design shows off the Apple logo and any engravings. Plus, you know you can trust Belkin’s AirTag accessories, which were the only third-party AirTag accessories to be featured by the Apple Store at launch.

  • 3. Nomad Leather Loop for AirTags
    • The Nomad Leather loop is made of luxurious Horween leather, and comes in Rustic Brown, Black and Natural (beige) colors.
    • Nomad’s take on the AirTag loop  design is very different from the previous options as it secures the AirTag in a clamping motion (sticks to AirTag with a powerful 3M adhesive, adding just over 2 millimeters of thickness), hiding and protecting most of AirTag, apart from the edges. In terms of Nomad’s Leather Loop “pros”, we like this design as it is more discreet as it hides most of the AirTag (including the logo and any engravings), comes across as more professional looking, and protects the chrome AirTag face.  Only “cons” to the design we see are that Nomad’s AirTag Loop covers up the beautiful AirTag’s face, and does not offer much in the way of  scratch protection for AirTag’s edges – and hopefully that adhesive is easily removable in the future.

  • 4. Benazcap Portable Case for AirTag – Best Value Silicone Loop Alternative
    • Made of eco-friendly liquid silicone, the Benazcap Portable Case for AirTag is the most similar case to the Apple AirTag Loop and comes in Multicolor 5-pack for just $15 (that’s just $3 each!).  The five-pack of colors include Black, White, Blue, Orange and Yellow.
    • Benzacap’s AirTags cases offer a lightweight protective design that is scratch-resistant, washable and sweat-proof, while still showing off the Apple logo and engravings.  But really, you’re buying it because Benazcap’s AirTag Loop accessory is the cheapest AirTag loop accessory on the market with good reviews – 78 reviews on Amazon at time of writing, with an average rating of 4 stars, which is amazing given the price
